Personal Reflection: My Will vs. God's Will

In scripture, Jesus teaches such interesting upside-down lessons to his disciples and those listening to him...

“...the last will be first and the the first will be last” [Matt 20:16]...

“...whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all” [Mark 10:43-44]...

Maybe one day my life will mirror such upside-down thinking and I will be able to say with a joyful heart that I was a failure in what I wanted to do for God, but a success in what God wanted me to do for the Kingdom...

Not my will, Lord, but Yours ... bring Your will to pass in my life!! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

new beginnings...

Easter has come and gone... and I have once again been reminded of God's awesome love for me... that He should die for my sins and then rise again, bringing me new life... and new beginnings!! May God's blessings be on each of you, as every day we rise with the knowledge that we are an Easter People, and that we have an awesome God who is ever faithful in His love towards us!!

Praise God!! Christ has risen indeed!!

daily ramblings...

ok - so here is the deal...  I have been waiting patiently [well, maybe not so patiently] for my income tax refund check to arrive...   and after an incident where the registrar of my district committee on ordination mailed something to me using my correct address and it was returned to her with "unable to forward" on it - after that happened, I began to wonder if my refund check was being returned to the IRS...

anyway, this morning I decided to go online to www.irs.gov and see if there was a way I could "track" my refund...  I figured you can track almost everything else, why not my refund??  and wonder of wonders!!!  it is possible!!  there was a link entitled, "where's my refund?"...  so I clicked on it - and my computer would not open it because it said it "could not establish a secure connection"...

hmmm...   well I have an Apple [and I love it!!] which means I have Safari as my web browser...  the government must not like Safari...   so I opened the Virtual PC program on my computer, and used Internet Explorer, and got through!!  Same computer....  I could use the "virtual" Internet Explorer to establish a "secure connection", but could not use the "real" web browser on my computer...   go figure...

and my refund check?  not lost or returned....   scheduled to be mailed out today!!  woohoo!!!

ok...  enough ramblings for now!!
